White House Christmas Tree Ornament

First Lady Laura Bush with Carmen and Dave Hodges at the White House
In 2001 Dave was asked by the Montana Art council to create a Christmas Tree Ornament for the Christmas Tree in the Blue Room of the White House. Two artists were chosen from each state to create an ornament. The theme for the year being birds, Dave created an abstract Tern. All the artists and their spouses were invited to attend a luncheon at the White House and First Lady Laura Bush was kind enough to have her picture taken with all in attendance.
